Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Garner Police Department. We are proud to serve the residents of Garner. The department is made up of a group of men and women dedicated to the values of Commitment, Integrity and Professionalism, and to maintaining public safety for our residents, businesses and visitors.
Our department is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency with 83 sworn police officers and 12 professional and civilian staff personnel (including full-time, part-time and supplemental staff). The department provides law enforcement services to a town with a population of over 45,000 residents. The department is divided into three major workgroups—Office of the Chief of Police, Patrol Bureau and Support Services Bureau.

The purpose of this public portal is to receive comments regarding an agency's compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the participating agency with information to support continuous improvement, as well as to foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
CALEA is not an investigatory body. The public portal should not be used to submit information for such purposes. There will be no response other than acknowledgement of submissions; however, the information will be considered in the context of its relevancy to compliance with the standards and tenets of CALEA accreditation.
