Project Update (11/10/25)

Area motorists will see a new traffic pattern at the roundabout intersection of White Oak, Ackerman and Hebron Church Roads. The southbound partial dual-lane roundabout roadwork is complete, and the slip (bypass) lane for those traveling northbound on White Oak Road is now open.

Please use caution when traveling through the area, paying attention to the new signage and pavement markings.

Here is some useful information for navigating the new traffic pattern (this video helps to visualize the information):

  • Motorists circulating in the roundabout always have right-of-way. Do not stop in the roundabout.
  • All motorists entering the roundabout must yield to circulating vehicles.
  • Follow the new slower speeds in the area.
  • In the southbound direction, stay in the left approach lane to continue south on White Oak Road and use the right approach lane only to exit to Ackerman or Hebron Church Roads.
  • To head northbound on White Oak Road, motorists from the roundabout merge right into the lane with motorists traveling from the slip lane.
  • Motorists traveling from the slip lane should slow down and allow the roundabout traffic to merge.

Some construction is still occurring outside of the roadway as the contractor works on final grading and cleanup. Duke Energy will install street lighting at a later date. The contractor was able to complete the roundabout work several months ahead of schedule, which helped reduce impacts on local residents and motorists.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as the Town of Garner and its contractor complete this important transportation project funded in part by Garner bond dollars.

See navigation guide for roundabout.
