2025 IMPACT Conference Presentations
At the 2025 IMPACT Conference, Economic Development Director Nate Groover and Downtown & Economic Development Administrator April Wood shared updates on small business, downtown growth and economic development. The event also included a transportation panel with representatives from NC CAMPO, NC Turnpike Authority and the Regional Transportation Alliance.

Garner Ranked One of the Nation's Fastest-Growing Towns
Between 2023 and 2024, Garner welcomed nearly 5,000 new residents—a growth rate of over 10%. This surge places Garner among the fastest-growing communities in the country. According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Town ranks 10th nationwide for population growth among communities with more than 20,000 residents.

Featured Update: Northeast Gateway Study
The Economic Development Department, in partnership with the Garner Economic Development Corporation (GEDC), have recently completed the Northeast Gateway Small Area Study.
The study focuses on one of the Garner Forward Comprehensive Plan Focus Areas identified as a regional employment center. It provides analysis of development opportunities and challenges that can be used to inform public and private decision making.
