The South Garner Greenway extension project has two main goals: 1) to give residents better bicycle and pedestrian options to get to White Deer and Lake Benson Parks, and 2) to prepare Garner to connect to a future regional greenway linking Lake Benson and Lake Wheeler.

This project includes a multi-use path shown in yellow/orange going from the Vandora Springs roundabout south to the Lakemoor area. This element of the project is the same on all the route options.

From the Lakemoor area there are three route options under consideration: Option A, Option B, and Option C. Although Town staff and the consultant (McAdams) have put considerable effort into these options, they are still in draft stage and may change as the design work progresses. The proposed routes are contingent on the Town being able to acquire easement agreements where property access is needed.

The map below offers an overview of the proposed project with the three options. You can click on the map to get a downloadable pdf. Below the map are links to individual maps with the three options. We also have a one-page fact sheet on greenways in general.
