The following is a news release from the N.C. Department of Transportation: 

Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close a ramp on U.S. 70 for bridge work beginning Monday.

The ramp from N.C. 50 (Benson Road) to U.S. 70 eastbound will close for two weeks from July 27 at 7 a.m. to Aug. 10 at 7 a.m., weather permitting.

Traffic will detour to West Garner Road and New Rand Road.

Drivers are encouraged to reduce speed through the work zone and pay attention to all traffic control devices.
