The Town of Garner will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and close at 5 p.m. due to the subfreezing temperatures and potential for black ice. Activities at Town recreational facilities Tuesday evening are canceled. Parks will open once Public Works is able to assess their conditions.

- Tuesday's Town Council work session is canceled. Work session agenda items will be moved to the Feb. 3 regular meeting. The special Council meeting scheduled for 4 p.m. tomorrow will be rescheduled for the same time on Feb. 3.
- Solid-waste collection is expected to resume tomorrow with collection provided to Monday routes then others as crews work to catch up. Residents on Monday routes should have their carts at the curb by 7 a.m. Tuesday morning for collection.
- The county’s emergency shelters at Southeast Raleigh and Heritage High Schools are closing today.
