New Town Council Begins Term; Kathy Behringer Recognized for Her Service

At the Dec. 2 Town Council meeting, the winners of November’s election—incumbent Gra Singleton and newly elected Kelvin Stallings—took their oaths of office with family, friends and supporters present then began their four-year terms.

Outgoing Council Member Kathy Behringer was recognized for her two decades on the Council and her exemplary service as a champion for public art, Downtown Garner and many more initiatives and organizations that have improved the quality of life in our community. Following the seating of the new Council, Demian Dellinger was selected by the Council to serve as Mayor Pro Tem for the next two years. He continues to be a voting member of the Council.
