In response to food insecurity in our community, the Town of Garner is launching a food drive now through Nov. 26.
The public can drop off donations at Town Hall (900 7th Ave.), the Fire Department administration building (914 7th Ave.), the Police Department (912 7th Ave.), Garner Recreation Center (215 W. Main St.), Garner Senior Center (205 E. Garner Road) and the Public Works complex (610 Rand Mill Road). Please look for the green recycle bins and food drive signs at each location.
Donations also will be accepted at the Downtown Garner welcome tent at the Trick or Eat, Garner Night Out and Touch a Truck event this Friday, Nov. 7.
We're collecting nonperishable items such as canned fruits and vegetables, beans, cereal, tuna, pasta, rice, peanut butter and more (the graphic above has a more complete list of items).
Thank you for your support of this important community initiative!
