News release from NCDOT:

Starting today, a section of Benson Road (N.C. 50) features a newly updated traffic pattern. Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation have completed their work, and drivers are urged to stay alert to the changes.

The N.C. 50 bridge over U.S. 70 in Garner is now a two-lane road without a center lane to support ongoing bridge construction. This design reduces the need for frequent traffic shifts and allows the contractor to complete the bridge in a single phase.

The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2027.

NCDOT encourages drivers to remain alert and exercise caution when travelling through all work zones.
