The Town is proud to announce that Garner Performing Arts Center on Nov. 7 won a Garner Chamber of Commerce Summit Award for Creativity and Innovation.
The GPAC team won for initiatives to make the arts more accessible to people with disabilities. These efforts include:
- the implementation of offering sensory-friendly performances for a family-friendly series, GPAC PLAYhouse;
- offering sensory kits at all performances;
- piloting GPAC's first adaptive performing arts class, Limitless Creativity!, which culminated in a public performance.
GPAC is hosting a sensory-friendly production of "Frosty: A Musical Adventure" on Nov. 16. Learn more and purchase tickets to this and other upcoming GPAC shows by visiting GarnerPerformingArtsCenter.com.
