The Town of Garner seeks to create a road map for expanding and maintaining affordable housing opportunities based on data analysis, current economic conditions, and community feedback. To pursue this effort, the Town Council created the Affordable Housing Task Force made up of organizational and community stakeholders in June of 2025.

Strategic Plan Community Meeting

The Town is refreshing one of its foundational documents—its Strategic Plan—and we’re seeking your input as an essential part of this process. Join us on Wednesday, July 15, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. for an open-house public engagement event in the multipurpose room in the Garner Recreation Center, located at 215 W. Main St.

We’ll use the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results) framework to gather your thoughts and feedback to assist us in creating a blueprint for how the Town can best serve you. Conversations with small groups of attendees will be facilitated by staff as the groups cycle through the four SOAR stations. Town staff will capture attendees' feedback, analyze it and use it to help guide our Strategic Plan refresh.

Help us forge a vision and a plan that will guide Garner’s exciting next chapter. We’ll see you on the 15th!
