The Garner Juneteenth Committee invites the community to our annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at the Garner Performing Arts Center.
This year’s theme focuses on telling the story and recognizing the importance of Black landowners in Garner's early days. Through powerful storytelling, the program will feature local choirs, dance performances and narrative segments woven together with interview clips that bring history to life through the voices of residents and their ancestors.
Special remarks will be shared by Congresswoman Deborah Ross and Mayor Buddy Gupton.
