Police Unity Tour Team Headed to Chesapeake!
The team has finished fundraising and is leaving for Chesapeake, Virginia
on May 9th. The team will then bike from Chesapeake to Washington, DC
on May 10th through the 12th. Check this website for updates during

In 2008,
Trooper A.J. Stocks
was killed in a crash while responding to a call. Trooper Stocks and his
family lived in Garner, so we have dedicated our 2009 ride in his memory.
Who we are (left to right above):
 | Sgt. Chris Clayton, age 37, was born and
raised in Garner and joined the Garner Police in 1993. He enjoys biking,
rock climbing, boating and other outdoor activities.

 | Lt. Chris Hagwood, age 43, was also born and raised in
Garner and has been a Garner police officer since 1988. He is an avid
mountain biker, rock climber, and outdoor enthusiast who is training for
his first long road ride.

 | Officer Petro “Pete” Moore, age 29, is a Wake
County native and has just recently joined the Garner Police in 2008
after a stint in the US Coast Guard. Pete enjoys many outdoor activities
including hiking, wakeboarding, and boating.

 | Officer Steven Doak, age 44, is originally from
Marietta, Ohio. He joined the Garner Police in 2005 after retiring from
the US Navy. Steven is an experienced road cyclist who enjoys the great
outdoors and spending time with his family. |
Sponsorship of our team comes with several benefits
including recognition on our department website, through press releases, and
at special fundraising events. We are available to make appearances at your
place of business to promote the Tour and recognize your donation.
While certainly there are many worthy organizations
deserving of your generosity, your consideration in making a donation to

Local fundraisers:
 | February 25, 2009 from 7:00 a.m.-10:30
a.m. the Garner Team will be serving coffee at Swift Creek Coffee House
on Fifth Ave. Swift Creek Coffee will donate all of the tips and 15% of
the day's sales to the team. |
 | March 4, 2009 and April 8, 2009 from
4:00 p.m. to closing the T.G.I. Fridays at White Oak will donate 10% of
dinner sales to the team. |
 | March 28, 2009 the team will sponsor a
bike-run-bike race at the Garner Recreational Park on Garner Rd. This
event will be on the mountain bike trails in the park. There will not
be a registration fee, but donations will be accepted for entrants.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial's
