Lake Benson Boathouse 

Due to low water levels in Lake Benson, the Lake Benson Boathouse will be closed this weekend, October 27-29.  This weekend typically marks the end of the season and therefore the Lake Benson Boathouse will remain closed until spring. We apologize for any inconveniences.

The Lake Benson Boathouse is located just down the road from Lake Benson Park.  Jon boats (with or without trolling motor and battery), canoes and kayaks are available to rent.  There is no charge to fish from the pier.  The Boathouse is open weekends mid-March through late October. All rentals are on a first come basis.  For more information call 919.662.5703.

City of Raleigh Lake Use Policies and Regulations

  • A person must be at least 16 years of age in order to rent a boat.
  • There is a maximum of 3 people per boat.
  • Boats will not be rented after 5pm
  • All boats must be returned to the dock at or before 6:30pm.
  • Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.  Persons consuming alcohol of any type will be denied use of the lake and adjoining city property.
  • No swimming or wading is permitted anywhere on the lake.
  • The possession or use of firearms is strictly prohibited.
  • Launching of private watercraft is prohibited.
  • Boats are to be operated at all times in a manner that will not infringe upon the rights of other boaters, or endanger lives and property of others.
  • No dock fishing or boat rentals during inclement or threatening weather.
  • N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission regulations apply while suing this facility.
