"Landscapes" by Earl Davis
On display June 1 - July 15, 2017
Garner Performing Arts Center Lobby Art Gallery
Open to the public Monday – Friday 1:30 – 5:00 p.m. and during events.
Earl Davis is a man with too many interests! During fifty plus years in Christian ministry he found time while fulfilling his calling as a physician of souls to enjoy lamp working (glassblowing), learning to pilot aircraft, write books (take a look at his RACCOON THEOLOGY or one of his other books at Amazon), and engage in oil painting.
In retirement for the last fifteen years at Blowing Rock, North Carolina--while serving in twelve interim pastorates--he and his wife Pegeen hike the beautiful trails of the Blue Ridge Parkway and other national parks, and he gives more time to capturing on canvas the glories of God's creation. He works in oil, and his paintings are mainly landscapes of a realistic style, with a sprinkling of portraits and Impressionism thrown in. Self taught, his art heroes and mentors include Richard Schmidt, Morgan Weistling, and Bill Inman.
