Towne Players to Produce 'The Little Mermaid Jr.'

The Towne Players of Garner announce a change in their current season lineup. Coming Aug. 9, 10 and 11, the Towne Players will present Disney’s "The Little Mermaid Jr."
When selecting shows for the current season, Disney’s "The Little Mermaid Jr." was a first choice among the Towne Players Board of Directors and Towne Players Artistic Director Beth Honeycutt, but performance rights were not available at the time the 2012 season was announced. But Music Theatre International, the rights holder, recently
made performance rights available, enabling the Towne Players to be one of the first groups in the Triangle area to produce the show.
Disney’s "The Little Mermaid Jr." replaces "Willy Wonka Jr." on the schedule.
Auditions for Disney’s "The Little Mermaid Jr." are open to people ages 12-18 years old and will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.on Monday, May 7 and Tuesday, May 8 at the Garner Performing Arts Center (742 W. Garner Road). People auditioning should prepare a song and expect to read cold from the script.
