Erieyana J Holloway, the 14 yo passenger in the victim vehicle, has died as a result of her injuries.  Garner Police are continuing to work with the Raleigh Police Department and expect further charges to be filed against Mr. McGregory.

On 2/23/2017 at approximately 6:55pm an Officer of the Garner Police Traffic Safety Unit attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Kawme McGregory, 12/4/1998, for speeding on Garner Road near New Rand Road.  Before the officer could approach the vehicle to identify the driver, the vehicle sped off at a high rate of speed.  The officer initiated a pursuit of the vehicle.  Officers pursued the vehicle through Garner and ultimately onto Rush Street where they lost sight of the vehicle.  The officers turned north onto Hammond Road and upon passing the I-40 interchange, observed that suspect vehicle had been in a collision with a white van.  Both vehicles were heavily damaged.

As a result of the crash, four individuals were transported to Wake Med.  Shada Sahquea Taylor, 12/16/1991, was found deceased in the suspect's vehicle.  McGregory was transported with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  He has been charged with Driving While Impaired.  Other charges are currently pending.

The white van was driven by Shaun Dontay Jackson, 36, of Raleigh.  He and two juveniles were transported to Wake Med as well.  One of the juveniles, 14,  is in critical condition at the time of this release.
