Vision

All Garner-area public schools provide a quality education in a safe and stimulating learning environment.  Students exceed expected standards and gain skills for successful lifelong learning.  Faculty and administrators initiate and participate in activities to promote high achievement and prepare students for the challenges of life and learning.  Parents, community members, and educational colleagues recognize Garner-area public schools as schools of excellence, creativity, and enrichment, resulting in highest quality teachers seeking employment in Garner-area public schools and students selecting Garner-area public schools as their schools of choice.

Mission

The Garner Educational Foundation seeks to improve educational achievement among all students attending Garner-area public schools through activities that encourage communication and involvement among students, parents, school staff, and business and community leaders and that support students and teachers in achieving success and recognition.

Goal 1:  Every elementary school is a school of excellence.

Strategies include:  SCOR, Technology Support, Camp Invention.

 

Goal 2:  The middle schools and the high school are recognized as schools of choice by area students and by the community at large.

Strategies include:  Community involvement, technology support, back-to-school/international events/summer camps.

 

Goal 3:  School and community entities collaborate to assist and recognize student and educator success.

Strategies include:  STARS, GMHS senior scholarships, staff continuing education, Baccalaureate services, retiree/award winner honors, Garner Targets the Arts storytelling festival and workshop.

 

Goal 4:  GEF programs and activities are supported by a sustained source of funding.

Strategies include:  Publicity, website, special projects, fundraisers
