Incident at 104 Dunnsbee Ct. Garner, NC - Monday, April 07, 2014

At 10:00 am a Wake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was
attempting to complete an eviction process at 104 Dunnsbee Ct. in Garner. He
opened the unsecured front door of the residence and announced his presence. He
heard a loud bang that sounded like a gun shot. He backed out of the residence
and escorted the realtor, who was outside, to safety.
Garner Police Officers, other Deputies and members of the NC
Highway Patrol responded to the Deputy’s call for assistance. They surrounded
the house and set up the Incident Command System. No other noises or movement
came from the residence.
Garner Police Crisis Negotiators tried to contact the
occupant of the residence. They were unable to make contact. Special Response
Teams (SRT) from the Garner Police Department and the Wake County Sheriff’s
Office responded to assist.
Garner SRT members began
to evacuate the residents adjacent to the house in question. The SRT from the
Sheriff’s Office deployed their ROBOT and searched the house. They discovered one deceased middle-aged male subject with a single gunshot wound to
the head in the house.
No one else was injured in this incident.
Garner Police Investigators will investigate the incident.
