Garner Police File Charges in Bank Robbery - Wednesday, March 05, 2008
Garner Police charged 27 yo Lemar Dasher with one count of Common Law Robbery for the February 11th robbery of the RBC Centura Bank. According to investigators, the suspect entered the bank at around 2:00pm, handed a note to the Teller, and demanded money. The suspect then left with an undisclosed amount of money. Police say that Dasher was identified as a suspect after his prints were located at the scene. No weapon was displayed during the robbery.
"We are certainly glad to have this person off our streets," said Investigator Gordon Gay. Investigator Gay led the investigation into the robbery. "This was truely a team effort, involving multiple agencies."
Dasher was arrested late yesterday afternoon after Raleigh Police located him at an apartment on Carnage Road in Raleigh. Several outstanding warrants, including one for armed robbery, were also served on him at the time of his arrest. He is currently in the Wake County Jail under $155,000 secured bond.
