UPDATE: 308 Hay River St.  -  Tuesday, February 24, 2015
On Saturday, February 20, 2015 Garner police officers responded to a request to check on the welfare of Michael Wayne Benedetti, age 46, who lived at 308 Hay River St. Once officers entered the house, they discovered Mr. Benedetti had died of an apparent suicide. Police also found the body of Eileen Yinfenlai Benedetti, age 57, whose cause of death is undetermined pending the medical examiner’s report. The Benedettis were married and both lived at 308 Hay River St. We have classified this incident as a murder-suicide; however, a final determination will be made once a report is issued on the cause of death for Mrs. Benedetti.

Garner police are investigating the death of two persons at 308 Hay River St. as a murder-suicide. At this time the manners and causes of the two deaths, a male and a female, are still under investigation pending an initial report from the medical examiner.

Garner police received a call today around 9:56 am to check on the welfare of persons at 308 Hay River St. When police arrived they found two people deceased inside the residence. Garner investigators are currently at the scene and more information will be released as it becomes available.

Police Make Arrest in Robbery  -  Thursday, February 12, 2015
Garner investigators charged Kahleel Dashawn Smith, age 21 of Raleigh, and Tyree Demetrius McMillan, age 23 of Raleigh, with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon in connection with the A1A Sweepstakes, 214 Forest Hills Dr., robbery that occurred January 13, 2015. Both suspects have been arrested.

Garner Police Seek Robbery Suspects  -  Wednesday, January 14, 2015
Garner police are investigating an armed robbery at A1A Sweepstakes, 214 Forest Hills Dr., that occurred on January 13, 2015 at approximately 11:45 p.m. Three unknown black males entered the store and robbed the cashier of money. At least one of the suspects was armed with a silver handgun.

Garner Police Make Arrest in Robbery  -  Tuesday, December 23, 2014
On December 18, 2014, Garner police investigators arrested and charged Steven Rachon Guthrie, age 38, of Garner on with the crime of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon for an armed robbery occurring on September 24, 2014 at Burger King, 1566 Benson Rd. Mr. Guthrie allegedly used a handgun to rob the cashier of money. No one was injured in this robbery.

Garner Police Seek Attempted Kidnapping Suspect  -  Sunday, December 14, 2014
Garner police are seeking the location and identity of an unknown Hispanic male who attempted to forcibly kidnap a female while armed with a knife earlier this morning at Abberly Place Apartments off Timber Dr. East.

Garner police are seeking Maurice Terril Dublin, age 29, who is missing from 105 Avery St. Garner and suffers from a cognitive impairment. He left his home on foot around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 and was last seen wearing light colored jeans, a brown coat and a Chicago Bulls beanie. Anyone knowing the location of Mr. Dublin is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency or the Garner Police Department

Police Investigate Serious Crash  -  Thursday, October 16, 2014
On 10/16/14 Garner police school crossing guard Tammy Hawkins, age 53, was struck while in the crosswalk at Timber Dr. and Harth Dr. Mrs. Hawkins was attempting to stop traffic on Timber Dr. for students to cross the road after school. Tammy Hawkins received serious injuries as a result of the collision.
