The Planning Commission usually meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at Town Hall. This commission has a total of seven members, five members must reside inside the Garner town limits and two members must reside outside of the town limits.
The Planning Commission is an advisory body to the Town Council and deals with land use, zoning and development issues. In addition to attending the monthly Planning Commission Meetings, attendance is also expected at public hearings on plans, rezonings and ordinance amendments, which are held jointly with the Town Council on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at Town Hall.
