Welcome from the Director:
Let me begin by extending a sincere thanks to our citizens who supported the recent passing of the Town of Garner Bond Program. The $7,150,000 Parks and Recreation bonds will improve and expand existing parks, greenway, recreational and cultural facilities through the following projects:
Indoor recreation center
- Park enhancements
- Improve/develop parking lot on Garner Road
- Addition of lighted and covered walkways from Garner Road parking lot to Garner Performing Arts Center
- Property acquisition for Garner Performing Arts Center expansion
By investing in parks and recreational facilities, the Town can meet both social and economic goals which support job creation, improved public health, enhanced quality of life, and increased opportunities for regional tourism. The Garner Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department greatly appreciates the value citizens place on recreational services and facilities and looks forward to working with citizen-led advisory committees and stakeholders who will assist with planning the future of Town-wide parks and facilities.
