Parks and Shelters:

The Town makes available to its citizens two community parks and several neighborhood parks consisting, in total, of 350 acres including a 60-acre parcel of land at Lake Benson.  All picnic shelters are available for users on a first come, first served basis from 8:30am until dark with a two hour minimum.  Shelters may also be reserved up to 90 days in advance; but no less than 56 hours in advance.  Rental rates vary according to the size of the shelter.  Special equipment and amplification of sound is generally not permitted.  Check with the Parks and Recreation Department if you have special program needs.  The reserving group is responsible for all clean up after shelter use.  Picnic kits are available for rental through the Parks and Recreation office.  These kits include a variety of recreational supplies that can add to any family gathering.  For more information on these parks, please contact us at 919-773-4442.
