Friday Famly Flick and Family Camping Night has been moved to SATURDAY, June 2 due to the inclement weather and high wind expected on Friday evening. Activities will begin at 8pm with the movie starting at dark.

This year marks the beginning of an exciting year in the Garner Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department. We have an exciting program lineup scheduled to march in the spring and summer seasons. The Garner Performing Arts Center will host its first-ever performing arts series featuring Craig Karges, Eddie Miles, John Brown and James Gregory. Entertainment will vary from comedy to jazz, and attract various audiences. Season tickets are offered at a great rate of only $70 for all four shows. Individual tickets range from $15-$27. This year will also mark the 25th year of the Town’s July 3rd Independence Day Celebration at Lake Benson Park. This year’s event will feature a live band, the North Carolina Symphony, fireworks, inflatable games, food and information booths and special attractions to commemorate the 25th year of the Town’s most successful event.
Don’t miss out on this year’s special events such as Family Flicks and Camping and the annual Spring Eggstravaganza festival. Last year’s Family Flicks and Camping event attracted nearly 1,000 participants and 100 campers, while the Spring Eggstravaganza festival attracted 2,000-plus anxious “egg hunters.”
Several new summer camps will be offered for youth 4-15 years old. Preschool and youth camps range from nature, theatre and dance, to teen adventure and digital photography camp. Camp Kaleidoscope returns again this summer and continues being one of the most affordable and adventurous camps in Garner.
